What we collect

Quoth is designed to work without an account. When you play anonymously, we store a randomly generated device ID in your browser to track your puzzle progress and stats locally. We send the same ID with each guess so the server can record which puzzle you played and what you scored — that data lives on our servers in an aggregated form for analytics.

If you sign in with Google or Apple, we record your name, email address, and profile picture as provided by the identity provider. We use these to display your name in the app and to keep your stats in sync across devices. We do not sell or share this information with third parties.

Affiliate links

The “Buy on Amazon” link on the results screen is an affiliate link: as an Amazon Associate, Quoth earns from qualifying purchases. Following it transmits data to Amazon according to their privacy policy; we don't see what you buy. The “Read free” link goes to Standard Ebooks and is not an affiliate link.

Cookies and analytics

Quoth uses Vercel Web Analytics, which counts visits without using cookies or tracking individual users across sites. If you sign in, we set a session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not set advertising cookies.

Your choices

To delete your account and its stats, choose “Delete account” from the account menu in the app — it takes effect immediately. You can also email privacy@playquoth.app. To clear your local progress, clear your browser's storage for this site.

Changes

We'll update this page when our practices change. Material changes will be announced in-app.
